I switched from using Google automation to Home Assistant because I was having issues on timing accuracy. Now I have a time lapse fully set up and automated using Home Assistant and it's working great!

I'm a computer geek from way back (GenX) but at this point don't like building/setting up systems from scratch anymore. We just bought a house and I wanted to do automation and the OOB solutions (Alexa/HomeKit/Google) weren't robust enough for what I want to do. Researched options, and Home Assistant was definitely the way I wanted to go. When I found out I could do it with a pre-built device instead of having to custom build a Pi, I was all in. Delivery was fast, setup was easy, and my base system was working within the hour (probably more like 20 min). Now I'm expanding and coding automations practically daily. Love the device, can't recommend it highly enough. For us old hat tech experimenters, it's super friendly. For a newbie who's willing to read a lot of online documentation and experiment a lot, it's definitely doable. The Green box takes SO MUCH of the work out of it and you can get right to the play. HIGHLY recommend.

bought one for thread. my house is pretty small but it covers the whole place from the corner of the house. set up was instant and easy. bought a second one for zigbee

I was looking for a good solution for a general purpose home server powerful enough to run a bunch of docker containers. This was the most powerful at the price point that didn't require any peripherals or adapters or heatsinks etc to work. It's an excellent little computer, an old desktop PC could do the job but not with such a tiny power footprint.

I love love love this low power computer. I purchased two as the usb ports stopped working (known design flaw on first batch); the new one was literally plug and play from the first!!

I exclusively use this for home assistant. Seems to handle zigbee well with an external radio (updating to ZBT-1 shortly!) and has kept up well with all my and my family’s automation needs!!

Everything was up and running in 15mins.

I have owned older Sonoff sensors and the build quality of this generation is much better than the previous versions. Had no problem pairing with my Home Assistant config and range and features are great. I have only had them a week but I am quite pleased so far.

I received a heatsink with bent fins, but they immediately shipped a new one once I notified them without any fuss, and the new one I got is perfect for cooling my old Odroid XU3! Works a lot better than the original heatsink by far when paired with a 40mm fan I had, and the fan might not even be necessary.

Forward shipped to Kenya, Africa. Repurposed my ODROID H2+ into Pfsense Router to power Starlink.
